Thursday 6th June 2024 sees the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings on the Normandy coast in France.  Codenamed Operation Overlord, the operation was the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare and was pivotal in the process through which Allied victory over Germany was eventually achieved.

We were delighted to work with the National Museum of the Royal Navy in the construction of the canopy and basin which now houses Landing Craft Tank 7074, outside The D-Day Story in Southsea, Portsmouth.

LCT 7074 is the only surviving Landing Tank Craft from D-Day.  It was recovered from Birkenhead dock, restored at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and is now sited in its new home under the specifically designed cantilevered canopy outside The D-Day Story.  This is the perfect place for it to be displayed, where people can visit for years to come and learn all about this important event in world history.

You can see more about the renovation of LCT 7074 at The D-Day Story.
